Africa is a long haul destination as well as being a huge continent with endless travel options, so it's worth planning ahead to get the best out of your journey. Presented below are answers to some of the most Frequently Asked Questions.

1. Why should I book my Safari with you?

Jewelines Safari Services, Limited is one of the few trusted companies in Uganda! Wholly owned and managed by local indigenous Ugandans, we strive to satisfy everything that safari dreams are made of, by offering the most honest services to our clients. Managing Director professionally trained in Kenya has a vast wealth of experience spanning decades of years in East Africa’s Tour & Travel Industry. Our reputation has been built around our ability to offer adventures and tours at realistic cost without compromise on quality or reliability. We are committed to providing excellent customer service by promoting and implementing unequalled professional travel practices. Be safe in the knowledge that we take excellent care of our travelers here. Being a privately owned local company, our goal is primarily dictated by our desire to provide you with an unforgettable travel experience.

2. How far in advance should I book my safari?

It is better to book as far in advance as possible to ensure availability at the time you wish to travel, (6 to 8 months or even more), especially during the high/peak season –July/August and Christmas/ New Year season. This is especially important for those wishing to travel on Private Custom Safaris and those adding extensions to scheduled trips.

3. What type of vehicles do you use on safari?

We use 6 - seater custom safari land cruisers with pop up roof ideal for game viewing and sightseeing. The safari vehicles provide a superior degree of comfort and maneuverability. The buses are well maintained to provide maximum comfort and safety. In addition to the above, all our vehicles are fully equipped with cool boxes and first aid kit. If requested, transportation can be arranged in (a) 4x4 mini bus (es) or ordinary big car(s) at a slightly lower cost. All our safari drivers are trained tour guides - friendly, experienced, knowledgeable and committed to ensuring client’s satisfaction.

4. Can you guarantee to show us the “Big Five” whilst on safari with Jewelines Safaris?

It is most definite that you will see common wild game which include; gazelles, impalas, Uganda kob, zebras, elephant, buffalo, giraffes, etc depending on which area or national park you visit. The Big Five (elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo) are NOT a guarantee to be seen on a single tour, unless one has plenty of time to search, but our skilled driver guides do their best to spot all the animals known to be within the destinations of your itinerary.

5. When is the best time to go on a safari?

We recommend the drier months for your journey for obvious reasons! Therefore, the most popular time of year to visit is January to mid March, and June to mid October. These are the times of year when the destinations will have more tourists helping with more excitement. The long rains usually come to the region in the months of April through May, short rains late October to mid December.
