Hippos in Uganda

Obtain Uganda Visa Online - Applications can be filled at: visas.immigration.go.ug Travel to Uganda and within Uganda is much easier. Uganda & Rwanda jointly offer Mountain Gorillas, besides Chimpanzee, Baboons, amongst other primates. Major circuit roads connecting to these primates’ habitats are paved.

Gorilla Permit in Uganda is: USD: 700.00 PER PERSON! No Low Season [April, May and November] incentive discounts anymore. Rwanda Gorilla Permit is: USD: 1500.00 PER PERSON! We shall always update our clients, once any price changes are announced. In both countries – Uganda or Rwanda – children under the age of 15 years are NOT allowed to trek gorillas or chimps.

Terms and Conditions

Payment //..

Registration and booking for all our programs require a deposit of 30% at the time you book. The balance of the cost of your trip is to be paid within 45 days prior to your arrival date in the low season; March through June, November to December 15th, and within 60 days prior to your arrival date in the high season; December 15th through February and July through October. Payment in full is required when bookings are made within 45 days of arrival.

Cancellation and No Show Fee //..

From time to time we shall advise cancellation and no-show terms depending on the cancellation and no-show rules of the lodges in one’s itinerary. We have this structure below before it’s overtaken by self-styled lodges of present day:

Cancellations received by Jewelines Safari Services, Limited 60 days prior to arrival date are subject to no cancellation fee. Cancellation received within 60 days of arrival are subject to the following cancellation fees:

  • Prior to 60 days - no cancellation fee.
  • 60 – 30 days 50% of the tour cost
  • 29 – 15 days 75% of the tour cost
  • 14 – 0 days 100% of the tour cost

NB: Do not get surprised if & when we relay to you tighter conditions. Those will be some certain lodges’ demands. Please Note: There is a minimal non-refundable administration fee of 10% for handling any safari programs.

Baggage Limit //..

The tour rate includes the transport and handling of ONE piece of luggage per person not exceeding a total of 38 pounds. Baggage is restricted to 1 standard size bag, about 1 foot x 0.75 foot x 1.5 feet while on safari due to space (on the aircraft and/or) in the van and road conditions. Most city hotels have left luggage lockers for excess baggage.

Insurance //..

It is a condition of booking that one has adequate travel insurance cover plan from home for the entire duration of ones stay while in East Africa. This plan should be designed to provide financial protection in a number of circumstances such as unforeseen medical circumstances that may force you to cancel or interrupt your safari, loss of, delayed, or damaged luggage, medical assistance, or hospitalization.

Liability //..

Jewelines Safari Services, Limited acts only as an agent of the passenger in all matters relating to tours and it accepts no responsibility for any personal illness, injury, death, accidents, delay, loss, damage or irregularity of any kind which may be occasioned by reason of any act or omission beyond our control - including without limitations - acts of negligence or breach of contract of any third party such as hotel, airlines, who does supply goods or services for the trip. Jewelines Safari Services, Limited will not be responsible for any losses or expenses due to delay(s) or change(s) in flight schedule(s), overbooking of accommodations, fault of any third-party sickness, weather, strikes, acts of God or for any other cause(s) beyond our control. All such losses or expenses are to be borne and paid for by the passenger. Ugandan laws govern the passengers carried in their own vehicle and all claims are subject to the jurisdiction of Ugandan courts. Whilst every care is taken the company will not be held responsible for loss or damage to baggage, personal effects or valuables or currencies. The company reserves the right to employ sub- contractors for all or part of the services.

Unused services //..

While client is supposed to be here with us, yet absents himself or herself, refund will not be made for any missed tour service or unused portion of the program. Adjustments will not be made for unused sightseeing trips or meals. It is also understood and agreed upon that refund will not be made to passengers who do not complete the tour for any reason whatsoever.

Alterations to Tours //..

Jewelines Safari Services, Limited reserves the right to alter arrangements of the route or to cancel operation of a scheduled tour should conditions beyond our control necessitate.

Public Laws & Park Rules //..

It is common practice and your solemn duty to observe public laws and park rules while on safari. Jewelines Safari Services Limited shall be in the forefront to advise you where what is allowed, and where not allowed. Jewelines Safari Services limited shall not be liable for any consequences resulting from one’s violation of Public Laws & Park Regulations.

Shopping //..

Your purchase decision(s) is very personal. You must use your best judgment when deciding whether an item is worth the price being asked. Be especially careful when buying tanzanite, golden articles, animal skins, rugs, large carvings to carry with you home or to ship. Jewelines Safari Services, Limited cannot be responsible for any purchases you make. It is only our duty to identify and recommend to you the best shopping locations and opportunities – which highlight quality and good value. However, we not responsible for the goods you buy, for any damages, delays or problems you may encounter with shipping your purchase(s). Please DO NOT buy, if you are in doubt of the item or the vendor. You will only have yourself to blame – not us – if you are not satisfied with what you have bought. NOTE: Our presence is vital to assist so you are not corned, rather than - so you are corned.
